About The Position

The Dietary Aide provides efficient, courteous, and professional service to residents and their guests at Kinship Pointe at Seward. The role maintains clean and orderly dining and service areas, assists residents with additional daily care needs as necessary, and supports food-service functions according to established policies and procedures. The aide provides table service, stays informed about daily menus, notes and accommodates special requests when possible, and completes food preparation and cleaning tasks as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies or personnel, and the public.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
Willingness to handle residents according to their current maturity level.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a commercial restaurant, assisted living, or SNU environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide table service to residents and guests according to Omega Senior Living standards.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance while serving residents and guests in the dining room.
Maintain working knowledge of daily menus and communicate professionally and courteously.
Note residents’ or guests’ special requests and assist in accommodating them whenever possible.
Clear soiled tableware from tables and deliver it to the dish-cleaning area.
Replace soiled tablecloths and napkins and reset tables according to expectations.
Perform additional food preparation, including plating, plate preparation, and garnishing.
Clean floors, doors, mats, countertops, and serving tables as required.
Keep the salad bar properly stocked and ensure water is present at the soup table to avoid scorching.
Assist residents with additional daily care needs as necessary.
Maintain supplies and equipment, keep work areas presentable, and regularly inspect food-service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
