About The Position

The Oaks Assisted Living in Muskegon, Michigan, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide. The role assists with preparing and serving meals to residents and ensures their dietary needs and preferences are met with a high standard of care. It supports residents’ health and well-being through proper nutrition.

The Dietary Aide works with residents and staff, follows food safety and handling regulations, and helps maintain clean kitchen and dining areas. The role is part-time on the evening shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service experience, preferably in healthcare or assisted living, is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and dietary guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of elderly residents.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing meals according to dietary plans and residents’ preferences.
• Serve meals to residents courteously and efficiently.
• Ensure proper portion control and follow special dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stocking and inventory of food supplies.
• Communicate dietary concerns or changes in residents’ conditions to the dietary manager.
• Follow safety and food handling regulations.
• Participate in in-service training and staff meetings as required.
