About The Position

The Server courteously serves meals to residents and guests and cleans and resets the dining room after meal service. The role assists residents with menu orders and tray service, provides beverages, and keeps table condiments stocked. It also requires attention to residents’ special needs, including mobility deficits and memory impairment, and polite, considerate interactions with residents, guests, coworkers, and supervisors. The Server follows confidentiality policies concerning resident information and works under close supervision. Additional duties include reporting broken equipment or tableware, using proper sit-down service techniques, applying basic food preparation and food storage and labeling practices, cleaning the kitchen and dining room, attending required in-services and staff meetings, and completing other assigned duties. The position requires a clean designated uniform and good personal hygiene during working hours. The stated schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the requirements also call for flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Able to read and follow simple instructions.

Able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
Able to stand and walk for sustained periods of up to three hours at a time.
Able to lift 50 pounds regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
Organized and willing to work well with other team members.
Willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must wear a clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

Serve meals courteously to residents and guests.
Clean and reset the dining room following meal service.
Assist residents with placing menu orders and provide tray service.
Provide beverages, including water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee or tea.
Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls before and after each meal.
Report broken equipment or tableware to a supervisor.
Use proper sit-down service and serving techniques.
Perform basic food preparation, such as preparing salads and desserts.
Follow proper food storage and labeling techniques.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum the kitchen and dining room.
Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Attend to residents’ special needs, including mobility deficits and memory impairment.
Follow confidentiality policies regarding the release of resident information.
Interact politely and considerately with residents, guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
Maintain a clean designated uniform and good personal hygiene during working hours.
