Our Diet Clerks provide administrative and clerical support for Food and Nutrition Services.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English
• SD County Food Handler Card; or Food Safety Certificate, or able to pass Food Handlers test given by certified manager or designee within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Food Service experience
• Food Service experience in a healthcare setting
• College courses in nutrition
• Experience in customer service

Responsibilities

• Processing diet orders
• Assisting patients with menu selections
• Distinguishing between food and medication allergies
• Maintaining current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance to the physician diet order
• Checking tray line for patient tray accuracy
• Functioning effectively in a call center environment
• Serving as a liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues and basic questions about meals/diets
