About The Position

ST JOSEPH Peterbilt is seeking experienced to entry-level Diesel Mechanics / Technicians for our newly built dealership and rapidly growing Service Department. We are looking for individuals with 1 to 3 years minimum (preferred) as a Diesel Mechanic / Tech, who are ready to go to work and be a part of our team! Applicants need to be self-motivated, dependable, perform all tasks to the best of their ability, and work well with coworkers. We provide onsite/hands-on training, which includes acquiring certifications from our factory OEM suppliers, at no expense to the employee. Travel may be required to our training facility in Kansas City, KS, but at no expense to the employee. Diesel Mechanics / Technicians employed will perform all aspects of heavy & medium-duty diesel engine and chassis repair. Kansas City Peterbilt is a fully certified Peterbilt Dealership through Paccar, Cummins, Caterpillar, Allison, Eaton, Dana & Meritor. We specialize in all areas of on and off-highway diesel repair. Duties range from preventative maintenance services (PM) to complete rebuild/replacement of all major and minor components found in today’s equipment.

Requirements

  • Heavy lifting required.
  • 1 - 3 years minimum of Diesel Mechanic experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude within department.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive resourcefulness & versatility in a fast-paced, always changing, environment.
  • Must be willing to listen and follow directions/advisement from leadership team.
  • Understands the importance of safety in the work environment.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of heavy & medium-duty diesel engine and chassis repair.
  • Perform preventative maintenance services (PM).
  • Perform complete rebuild/replacement of all major and minor components.
  • Complete services from the front bumper to the back taillights.
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe to be back on the road.
  • Perform PM services through complete vehicle rebuilds.
  • Advance any employee into areas they specifically show interest in.
  • Specialize in Paccar MX, Cummins and Caterpillar engines.
  • Specialize in Allison, Paccar and Eaton transmissions.
  • Specialize in Dana and Meritor drive axles.
  • Perform repairs utilizing the most up-to-date computer software, available technology, and tooling provided by the manufacturers.
