About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking individuals for their FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program designed to train individuals for a career as a full-time Diesel and Trailer Technician. This program offers free education in Diesel and Trailer Repair, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a paycheck during the five-week intensive training period. Upon completion of the classroom phase, participants will receive hands-on training with a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time Mobile Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. The company emphasizes employee growth and offers a clear path for raises and further training.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to study hard for five weeks.
  • Dedication to being away from home for the five-week training period.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
  • Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • Willingness to undergo background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examination.

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and successfully complete five (5) weeks of full-time schooling at the FleeTec Academy Campus.
  • Participate in hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations as a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle for repairs.
  • Continue education through periodic classroom study to develop skill sets.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.
  • Adhere to regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
