Entry Level Diesel & Trailer Mechanic
About The Position
Cox Fleet is seeking individuals for their FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program designed to train aspiring technicians for full-time Diesel and Trailer Technician roles. This program offers free education in Diesel and Trailer Repair, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a pathway to becoming a Mobile Mechanic. The program includes five weeks of full-time schooling at the Academy Campus, with travel, accommodation, meals, and a paycheck provided. Upon completion, participants will receive hands-on training with a Lead Technician and an offer of full-time employment as a Mobile Mechanic. Mobile Technicians are equipped with a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform repairs and preventative maintenance at customer locations. The program also includes opportunities for further classroom study and pay progression.
Requirements
- Willingness and ability to study hard.
- Dedication to being away from home for 5 weeks for training.
- Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be 21 years old to drive a company truck.
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to undergo background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a lube tech or in a maintenance shop.
- Experience taking apart and putting back together vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Study hard for five weeks of full-time schooling at the Academy Campus.
- Undergo further hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
- Perform vehicle repairs at customer locations as a Mobile Mechanic.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and general repairs onsite to ensure vehicles run efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing classroom study for skill development.
