About The Position

R+L Carriers is hiring a Diesel Tractor Mechanic for its Wilmington, Ohio Service Center. The role involves maintaining and repairing fleet equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks. Depending on the work location, the mechanic may also help maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and forklifts, and perform welding. The listed hourly pay range is $21.02–$35.31, with various shifts available. Employees earn one week of vacation after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• Experience with preventive maintenance on Class 8 trucks.
• Experience with minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks.
• Experience with air-conditioning and electrical repairs.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be dependable.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience using the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Two or more years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 trucks.
• Perform minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks.
• Depending on work location, assist with maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and forklifts.
• Perform welding, as needed.
