About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is hiring a skilled and motivated Truck Technician for its fleet service team in Colton, California. The role services trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units to help keep transportation fleets running and cargo in good condition. Technicians perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair vehicle and refrigeration systems, conduct inspections, and provide road service as needed. The position is full-time and offers an hourly salary range of $36.00–$41.00.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience performing DOT inspections, brake work, or preventive maintenance, or completion of a technical school program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience is a strong plus.
- ASE certifications in Brakes, Suspension, or PMs qualify for extra hourly pay.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration units, and APUs.
- Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Perform FHWA inspections, tire mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, doors, and structural components.
- Complete interior and exterior trailer cleaning.
- Service APUs and provide general road service as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
