Experienced Diesel Technician
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician at a busy travel center location. The technician provides accurate, efficient customer service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner. The role helps ensure travelers return to the road better than they came. The position offers a fun, trusting service environment, weekly pay, a competitive hourly wage plus commission, and opportunities for growth and advancement. Walk-in interviews are welcome on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the TA Truck Services Building, 101 N Cornelius Rd, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
Requirements
- Previous experience in repair or parts shop preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Maintain knowledge of the products sold and services provided.
- Diagnose wear conditions and, together with a TSA or Manager, make recommendations to customers.
- Complete repairs within the technician’s capabilities and as written.
- Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
- Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
