About The Position
Packer City International is hiring Diesel Technicians to work in a clean, safe, temperature-controlled shop. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 based on experience. Technicians perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, and communicate additional service needs to service personnel. Requirements
- At least 2 years of Service Technician experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Positive, friendly attitude and a customer-service mentality.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Have a CDL or obtain one within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year degree or certificate preferred.
- Service Technician experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive trucks and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, and brakes.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor or Service Manager when additional service is needed so customers can be informed.
- Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
