About The Position

Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanics, Trailer Technicians, and Reefer Technicians to support fleet maintenance and refrigerated transport operations in Johnstown, NY. Enjoy flexible 3- or 4-day schedules, premium pay, and strong benefits. Available Schedules: Sunday–Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM Thursday–Saturday: 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM; 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM Overnight shifts earn an additional $2/hour premium.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year diesel, trailer, or refrigeration experience (DOT inspections & air brakes required)
• Valid driver’s license
• Obtain toolbox and the required tools
• Strong work ethic and team-focused mindset

Nice To Haves

• ASE certification incentive pay (Brakes, Suspension, PMs)

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, reefers, and APUs
• Brake, suspension, and DOT/FHWA inspections
• Diagnose electrical systems and ABS brakes
• Tire services (mount, dismount, balance, flat repairs)
• Trailer structural repairs, rear doors, and washouts
• Troubleshoot APUs and assist with road service calls
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and shop equipment
