About The Position

Firematic is a family-owned business that has served those who protect the community for over 50 years. The Diesel Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains fire apparatus and emergency vehicles, performing skilled maintenance on automotive vehicles and medium- and heavy-duty trucks. The role includes vehicles for the Fire Division and Rescue (EMS) Division, as well as small gas engines and associated equipment.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The starting rate is $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Requirements

• Be a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Hold a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes, or be willing to obtain one within the first year.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of diesel engines.
• Knowledge of up-to-date methods for maintaining automobiles, trucks, and emergency vehicles.
• ASE and/or EVT certifications.
