About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks and equipment at its Lincoln, Alabama hauling site. The role involves maintaining diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks using modern tools and procedures. Mechanics work within Standard Labor Repair Times, respond to emergency breakdown service calls, complete repair documentation, and maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, starting at 10:00 a.m., with no weekends. The normal work setting is a repair and maintenance shop, with work also taking place outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Perform vehicle safety checks.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards and follow established safety procedures.
