About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and other equipment at its Lincoln, Alabama hauling site. The role is based in a repair and maintenance shop and involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a range of vehicle systems using modern tools and procedures. Mechanics may also work on CNG trucks at some locations.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 10:00 a.m., with no weekends. Starting pay is $27 per hour, depending on experience. The position offers a quarterly tool allowance, yearly boot and uniform allowance, healthcare coverage, education assistance, a company-matched 401(k), and adoption assistance and parent support.

The work environment includes indoor garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoor work in inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Requirements

• Two years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards, and follow established safety procedures.
