Entry Level Diesel Mechanic
About The Position
Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Diesel Technician through their paid educational program, FleeTec Academy. This program is designed to train individuals without the burden of traditional technical school costs and debt. Participants will receive free education on diesel engine fundamentals and truck repair, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a weekly paycheck during the four-week intensive training period at the Academy Campus. Travel, accommodation, and meal stipends are covered. Upon completion of the classroom phase, trainees will receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time position as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic. The program includes ongoing classroom study and culminates in becoming a certified Diesel Technician. Mobile Technicians use a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations.
Requirements
- Willingness and ability to study hard for four weeks of full-time schooling.
- Ability to dedicate four weeks away from home for training.
- Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be 21 years old to drive a company truck.
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to undergo background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examinations.
Nice To Haves
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
- Previous experience as a lube tech or in a maintenance shop.
Responsibilities
