About The Position
Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company is seeking individuals for their FleeTec Academy program, which offers a paid educational path to becoming a full-time Diesel Technician. This program is designed for individuals who may not be able to afford traditional technical school or purchase necessary tools. Participants will receive free education on diesel engines and truck repair, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a weekly paycheck during a four-week intensive training period at the Academy Campus. Travel, accommodation, and meal stipends are covered. Upon completion of the classroom phase, trainees will receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art vehicle. The company emphasizes employee growth and offers a predefined pathway for raises.
Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
- Willingness and ability to study hard.
- Dedication to being away from home for 4 weeks for training.
- Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be 21 years old to drive a company truck.
- Background checks, driving records checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical examination.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Attend four (4) weeks of full-time schooling at the FleeTec Academy Campus.
- Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
