Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Truck Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, or Equipment Technician.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools required for the position.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull more than 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience preferred for higher-level mechanic positions.
  • CDL preferred or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, suspension systems, air brake systems, and related components.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and tools including Cummins Insite, Davie4, and Allison DOC.
  • Complete DOT inspections and safety inspections in compliance with company standards.
  • Review and repair items identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and metal repair work as needed.
  • Test drive vehicles when required to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
  • Accurately document repairs, labor hours, and parts usage within fleet maintenance systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and maintenance team members.
  • Follow all company safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
