About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. The work involves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. You will provide customer service, document completed work, demonstrate equipment, and assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery. This is a safety-sensitive position. The role offers opportunities to develop toward higher-level technician positions in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
1–2 years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, accurately and on time each day.
Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
