About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Geismar, Louisiana. The role repairs automotive and heavy equipment, including trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment, and trailers. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, and may receive additional assignments from a supervisor. This is a non-exempt position. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience servicing 18-wheelers.
• General knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and work independently at times.
• Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company's Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• ASME certification.
• Technical training and/or industrial-related safety experience.
