About The Position

As a Mechanic - Pump (Service Tech II) in United Rentals’ Fluid division, you will perform maintenance tasks and minor repairs on equipment safely and professionally, with responsibility for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pumps. The role also involves delivering exceptional customer service and offers opportunities to work toward higher-level Technician roles in the Service Department.

The position is considered Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining pumps of various sizes, capacities, and manufacturers.
• Knowledge of construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical background, particularly with various engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform service documentation.
• Train lower-level Technicians.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer sites.
• Perform maintenance tasks and minor equipment repairs.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair pumps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
