About The Position

R+L Carriers is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at its Tonawanda, New York Service Center. The role is responsible for day-to-day maintenance of fleet equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Depending on the location, duties may also include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies, as well as welding.

The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, on the second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The hourly pay range is $28.25 to $37.25. Available PTO may be used immediately upon hire.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with air conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Class A CDL holder.
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience in trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
