The Diesel Mechanic performs preventative maintenance on a tractor trailer fleet. This position is scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3pm to 3am. Responsibilities include performing basic inspections, preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment, diagnosing and repairing tractors (including brakes, suspension, and transmissions), performing body repair including welding, fueling company equipment, maintaining a clean work area, recording maintenance and parts information in the computer, and adhering to safety guidelines. The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 100 lbs, operate a trailer yard spotter, be on call as needed, and change truck and trailer tires. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
