About The Position

Accu-Crete is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to be responsible for the upkeep of a diverse fleet, ensuring equipment stays out of the shop and on the job site. This role provides mechanical support and routine upkeep for Accu-Crete’s fleet, including heavy duty diesel trucks/trailers, bobcat loaders, forklifts, and excavators. The mechanic will perform service, maintenance, repair, and preventative work on company vehicles and equipment. We offer a competitive base salary and a generous benefits package. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel engines/machinery.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to communicate orally in person and over devices with peers, vendors, contractors, clients, and construction workers.
  • Regular use of mobile devices (talking or texting) and email for communication.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining a large (50+ unit) diesel fleet is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with gas engines and machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance work (such as oil changes and fluid checks) on diesel trucks/trailers, Bobcat loaders, forklifts, and excavators.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electric, and hydraulic failures using specialized software and manual diagnostic tools.
  • Perform heavy component repairs, including removing and replacing engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic pumps.
  • Maintain and repair tracks, rollers, and drive motors on tracked equipment, as well as air brake systems on heavy duty trucks/trailers.
  • Provide occasional field service to construction sites for emergency repairs in various weather conditions and landscapes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
  • Service, repair, and maintain diesel trucks/trailers, including identifying and replacing worn/damaged parts (engine, powertrain, air brake systems).
  • Test repaired parts/systems to ensure proper installation and vehicle safety.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other relevant diesel vehicle maintenance work.
  • Install new equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all truck/trailer repairs and related documents.
  • Determine equipment condition by conducting appropriate inspections and diagnostic tests for computer, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic failures.
  • Service, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including identifying and replacing worn and damaged parts.
  • Adjust and/or recalibrate equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other equipment maintenance work.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all heavy equipment repairs and related documents.
