About The Position

Prairie Field Services is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role involves completing oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and filter replacements, as well as inspecting critical vehicle components such as brakes, tires, lights, and suspension. The mechanic will be responsible for identifying mechanical issues before they escalate into major repairs and performing minor mechanical repairs as needed. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and inspection reports is crucial, as is keeping the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. This position requires close collaboration with the operations team to maximize fleet uptime.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic preferred
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures for Class A tractors and trailers
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet company background requirements
