Diesel Mechanic
About The Position
R+L Carriers is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic at its South Windsor, Connecticut Service Center. The position pays $28.25–$37.25 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday on second or third shifts. The mechanic performs day-to-day maintenance on fleet equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor-to-major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Depending on the location, work may also include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies, as well as welding. R+L Carriers is a family-owned, privately held transportation company founded in 1965. Requirements
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
- Ability to handle major repairs.
- Experience with air conditioning and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must have own tools.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
- Experience with preventive maintenance of Cummins and Detroit engines.
- Experience using Cetaris for work.
- Experience in trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day fleet equipment maintenance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and minor-to-major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers, and potentially forklifts.
- Depending on location, maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies, and perform welding.
