About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Sparks, Nevada, to maintain and repair company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. The role pays $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience, and is scheduled Friday through Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The mechanic will inspect and repair fleet equipment, diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, and complete work in accordance with OEM, DOT, and company standards. Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and work orders.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs according to OEM, DOT, and company standards.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, coding, and failure analysis.
• Use diagnostic software and repair tools to maintain fleet reliability.
