About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at its South Windsor, Connecticut Service Center. The Diesel Mechanic performs day-to-day maintenance on fleet equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Depending on location, work may also include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies, as well as welding.

This is a full-time position with Monday–Friday scheduling on second and third shifts. The hourly pay range is $28.25–$37.25. Employees earn one week of vacation after 90 days of employment and receive a comprehensive benefits package, including access to employee resorts.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with air conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work.
• Experience in trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet equipment.
