About The Position

Ryder is hiring an entry-level Diesel Technician in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The position performs basic maintenance and minor repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, preventive maintenance with training and support, and facility maintenance duties. The role uses diagnostic computers when applicable to identify minor mechanical and electronic problems. Ryder provides state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and equipment, paid training, and a safety-first workplace. The position pays $27.19 per hour, with a $100 bonus for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700, and a quarterly bonus of up to $500. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with weekends off. Applicants must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire and pass the required drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background and motor vehicle checks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic tools required.
Ability to understand and communicate effectively.
Ability to work shift work and weekends as required.
Ability to perform all entry-level tasks and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of computers and ability to apply that knowledge.
Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire.
Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
This position requires driving Ryder vehicles.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Responsibilities
