About The Position

E.L. Harvey & Sons, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at its Westborough, Massachusetts site. The role involves maintaining and repairing diesel vehicles, performing inspections and safety checks, diagnosing vehicle systems, responding to emergency road calls, and completing maintenance records. The position is overtime eligible, offers weekly pay, and has a stated pay rate of $30.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on experience, with potential annual earnings of $90,000 or more through available overtime and bonuses.

Requirements

At least 1 year of proven experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic.
Proficiency with a variety of diesel vehicle diagnostic tools, preventive maintenance, and repair.
Basic tool set.

Nice To Haves

Hydraulic experience.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs, inspections, and safety checks on diesel vehicles.
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
Use vehicle computer and electrical systems to interpret failure modes and identify and adjust engine and vehicle control modules.
Respond to road calls for emergency repairs.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs.
Test drive trucks after servicing and repairs.
Help other team members with repairs as needed.
Interact professionally and courteously with drivers when needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
