About The Position

Swift is hiring Diesel Mechanics to maintain and repair company-owned fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. Mechanics perform preventive maintenance, inspect and diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs, and service tires. The position offers hands-on OEM training and opportunities for career growth and advancement. The listed schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at 2841 Charles City Road, Richmond, Virginia 23221. Pay is $24–$33 per hour, with overtime rates of $37.50–$45 when available.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

Complete quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance according to applicable OEM, DOT, Swift, and other specifications.
Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor or complex repairs on equipment.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
