About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at its West Valley City, Utah location. The role maintains and repairs company-owned fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. Mechanics receive hands-on OEM training from manufacturers such as Freightliner, International, Volvo, Cummins, and Detroit, along with ongoing training and opportunities for career growth and advancement. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with pay of $22–$33 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Comprehensive background check.
• Pre-employment hair follicle drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Complete quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to applicable OEM, DOT, Swift, and other specifications.
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor and complex equipment repairs.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
