About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its Fleet Maintenance team at its shop in Johnston, Rhode Island. The role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the company’s Class 8 truck fleet. The position starts at 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours and a $2.00 shift differential. Pay is $30–$45 per hour based on experience and skillset.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience repairing or maintaining Class 8 trucks.
- A complete set of hand tools for heavy truck repair.
- Willingness to learn and grow abilities.
- Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical training in diesel or heavy-duty vehicle work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and general repairs on Class 8 trucks.
- Troubleshoot and repair brakes, air systems, electrical components, suspension systems, and other systems.
- Diagnose and perform necessary repairs to engine, electrical, and exhaust after-treatment systems.
- Inspect and replace general components as required.
