About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic for its Fleet Maintenance team at the Johnston, Rhode Island shop. The role maintains, diagnoses, and repairs the company’s heavy-duty truck fleet, including Class 8 trucks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 3:00 PM, with a $2.00 shift differential. Pay is $30–$45 per hour based on experience and skillset, with weekly direct deposit and overtime after 40 hours. The company describes its shops as modern and well-maintained with new equipment.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience repairing or maintaining Class 8 trucks.
- A complete set of hand tools for heavy truck repair.
- Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical training in diesel or heavy-duty vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and general repairs on Class 8 trucks.
- Troubleshoot and repair brakes, air systems, electrical components, suspension systems, and other truck systems.
- Diagnose and perform necessary repairs to engines, electrical systems, and exhaust after-treatment systems.
- Inspect and replace general components as required.
