About The Position

Swift Transportation is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment, helping ensure safe and efficient operations. The role is based at 9000 Woodend Rd, Edwardsville, KS 66111, and the scheduled shift is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay is $22.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair-follicle drug screening.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read repair manuals and complete work orders.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle and equipment issues.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, inspections, and failure analysis.
• Ensure work meets OEM, DOT, and company standards.
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
