The Diesel Mechanic/Service Technician uses diagnostic equipment to identify system failures, determines and performs required repairs, and completes repairs and rebuilds or overhauls on diesel engines. The role also includes diagnostics and repairs on driveline and chassis components and following OEM procedures and policies for complex repairs, including identifying necessary parts and tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Dependable and reliable attendance.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent bending and twisting.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
• Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment to determine the root cause of system failures.
• Determine services required to repair vehicles and perform failure analysis.
• Complete repairs and rebuilds or overhauls on diesel engines.
• Diagnose and repair driveline and chassis components, including clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, suspension, brakes, and transmissions.
• Follow OEM documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying required parts and tools.
