About The Position
EarthScapes Lawn & Land Service, Inc. is looking for a dependable Diesel & Equipment Mechanic to help maintain the vehicles and equipment that keep their crews moving. This is a hands-on role for an experienced mechanic who can troubleshoot problems, stay ahead of preventative maintenance, and work across a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, commercial mowers, and small-engine equipment. Since 1996, EarthScapes has built a strong reputation throughout Coastal Virginia for quality landscaping and land management services.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of professional mechanic experience
- Experience with diesel and gas vehicles, trailers, small engines, and/or commercial equipment
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work comfortably indoors and outdoors
- Dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certification preferred
- Virginia State Inspection certification is a major plus
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel vehicles, trailers, commercial mowers, and small-engine equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections to reduce equipment downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Respond to occasional equipment breakdowns and field repair needs
- Maintain accurate repair records, service schedules, warranties, and equipment information
- Assist with parts inventory and equipment tracking through Asset Tiger
- Ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and ready for use
- Perform minor shop and facility repairs as needed
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
