About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Wood County Dialysis Center in Parkersburg, WV. This position will require floating to our Grand Central Dialysis and Marietta Dialysis as needed. Paid training is provided. Some health care experience is preferred. The operational hours are Monday - Saturday 4:00am - 5:00pm, with the opener starting as early as 2:00 am to prep the clinic for the day. PCTs are expected to work 3-4 days/week, with a minimum of two Saturdays/month, and can be asked to start as early as 2:00 am. Hours of work may vary during the training period, but you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week during training. You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. DaVita offers a robust, paid training program that is a mix of classroom and hands-on training. Reimbursement for your Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license is provided. Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling, with clear paths to higher levels of responsibility and compensation by climbing our clinical ladder. Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic.

Requirements

  • Health care experience (BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification).
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Love to learn and a desire to help people.
  • Looking for a career with a company to grow with.
  • Comfortable with very early shifts (can start as early as 2 am) and long hours on your feet.
  • Reliable transportation (floating is required).
  • Love a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve patients at the Wood County Dialysis Center in Parkersburg, WV.
  • Float to Grand Central Dialysis and Marietta Dialysis as needed.
  • Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment, spending the majority of the day in direct one-on-one patient care (caring for up to 4-5 patients at a time).
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients in the morning.
  • Test water for chlorine and check tool calibration.
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • Work under the supervision of an RN.
  • Improve processes for patients and teammates.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease.
