About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Amherst Dialysis Center in Lorain, OH. Experience Preferred, but Willing to Train! The training is a mix of classroom and hands on training. Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic. Requirements

  • You are reliable (attendance and punctuality are crucial), love to learn, have a desire to help people, are looking for a career with a company you can grow with, are comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet, and love a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes!
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • In the morning, the opening PCT is coming in to get the water room ready and the bicarb for the patients.
  • Testing the water for chlorine, checking to make sure the tools are calibrated.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week.
  • Educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
