About The Position

aVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Grand Central Dialysis Center in Vienna, WV. This position will require floating to our Grand Central Dialysis and Marietta Dialysis as needed. Paid training is provided. Some health care experience is preferred. DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands-on training. Reimbursement for your Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license is provided. Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling. Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic.

Requirements

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Health care experience including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve patients at our Grand Central Dialysis Center.
  • Float to Grand Central Dialysis and Marietta Dialysis as needed.
  • Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients.
  • Test water for chlorine.
  • Check and calibrate tools.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Measure and record patient stats.
  • Perform patient observations.
  • Set up hemodialysis machines.
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • Work under the supervision of an RN.
  • Improve processes for patients and teammates.
