DIALYSIS REGISTERED NURSE, Part Time Days
About The Position
Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, Nevada. The Dialysis Registered Nurse works part time, 24 hours per week, on a dayshift schedule, and is eligible for full benefits. The nurse independently applies nursing practices to care for adult dialysis patients, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating patient care safely, therapeutically, and efficiently. The RN may guide and support patient-care team members, including Dialysis Technicians, in keeping with their training and patient acuity. The role performs renal replacement therapy treatments according to nephrologist orders, carries out patient assessments and ongoing monitoring, prepares treatment areas and supplies, and helps ensure dialysis machines and equipment remain in good working order under organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing.
- Current license to practice nursing; current RN license in the State of Nevada.
- Current BCLS Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred 1–2 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of 1–2 years in dialysis nursing.
Responsibilities
- Perform renal replacement therapy treatments according to nephrologist orders.
- Assess and evaluate patients, provide ongoing monitoring, and implement nursing interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Prepare dialysis treatment areas and supplies before treatments.
- Apply nursing procedures and care practices related to renal replacement therapy.
- Maintain dialysis machines and equipment in good working order according to policy.
- Provide guidance and support to patient-care team members, such as Dialysis Technicians, in accordance with their training and patient acuity.
