About The Position

The Clinical Manager at Fresenius Medical Care leads clinic operations and ensures quality patient care for people with end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease. The role oversees operational costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards, while coordinating patient care from admission through discharge. The manager supports individualized care plans and dialysis treatments and may also oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program. The position provides leadership, coaching, and development for direct reports; manages staff recruitment, training, scheduling, payroll, evaluations, and professional growth; and maintains required records, reporting, audits, and compliance. It also manages clinic financials and supplies, supports physician relationships and privileges, and participates in regional Governing Body activities. The manager enters Fresenius Medical Care’s Clinical Leadership Program, which provides onboarding and leadership development. Potential career advancement includes Area Team Lead or Director of Operations. The work takes place in a healthcare facility and includes desk and computer work, interaction with patients and clinical teams, possible travel between facilities or to meetings, potential exposure to infectious materials, and regular heavy lifting, moving patients, and assisting with ambulation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
Current appropriate state licensure.
At least 6 years of business operations experience in a healthcare facility.
At least 12 months of clinical nursing experience.
At least 6 months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of supervisory or project/program management experience.
Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.

Responsibilities

Manage clinic operations, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.
Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
Partner with Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services departments.
Collaborate with or function as the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program.
Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
Complete the Annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
Manage clinic financials, including efficient use of supplies and equipment and regular profit-and-loss review.
Complete required network reporting and support on-site state or federal surveys.
Coordinate patient care with appropriate staff from admission through discharge.
Ensure patient education regarding quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
Serve as a resource for patients and families addressing concerns and questions.
Ensure timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
Manage patient schedules, develop action plans for missed treatments, and validate patient eligibility for treatment.
Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
Participate in selecting and hiring team members and ensure completion of new-hire orientation and mandatory training.
Ensure patient-care employees complete appropriate training and maintain current licenses and certifications.
Support clinical staff regularly and encourage professional growth.
Maintain current knowledge of company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
Complete employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and document disciplinary actions; confer with the Clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources when needed.
Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with Fresenius Medical Care Medical Staff By-Laws.
Maintain strong physician relationships and ensure regular, effective communication.
Participate in the regional Governing Body, an interdisciplinary team that governs policies.
