Diagnostic Specialist Mammography Technologist- Mount Sinai West- Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
About The Position
Under general supervision of licensed physicians, performs and/or assists in performing all routine mammographic examinations in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Sets up, adjusts, and operates mammography equipment, selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate diagnostic images; properly positions and immobilizes patients. Responds to patients’ needs as required. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and general working area, stocking clinical supplies. Ensures proper operation of x-ray equipment. Performs mammographic procedures including needle localization, seed localization, and stereotactic biopsy.
Requirements
- Licensed physicians (for supervision)
- Ability to operate mammography equipment
- Knowledge of proper patient positioning and immobilization techniques
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of equipment and working area
- Ability to stock clinical supplies
- Ability to ensure proper operation of x-ray equipment
- Experience with needle localization, seed localization, and stereotactic biopsy procedures
