About The Position

This is a part-time Diagnostic Radiology Technologist role at Bloomington Hospital. The shift is Monday and Wednesday from 8 AM to 8 PM. It includes a rotating 11th weekend and two major holidays per year. Surgery experience is a plus, but not required. The role involves operating imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Responsibilities include preparing patients by explaining the exam and positioning them correctly, collaborating with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging, and following radiation safety protocols. The technologist will also document detailed patient history, stay current with continuing education, monitor patients during exams for safety, and document necessary information in the EMR. Assistance with minimally invasive procedures may be required.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
