About The Position

This position is for a Diagnostic Radiologist to provide telemedicine services for the Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. The facility serves Native American and rural communities, offering a range of health services including primary care, behavioral health, dental care, and emergency medical services. The role involves interpreting various radiologic examinations remotely and ensuring adherence to accreditation standards. The radiologist will also transcribe reports, consult with technologists on image quality, and participate in peer review processes.

Requirements

  • Any state license as a Radiologist is honored.
  • Must have a clean, unrestricted license.
  • Must have completed an approved medical residency training program in Radiology.
  • Must have board certification from the American Board of Radiology

Responsibilities

  • Provide interpretations of all standard radiologic examinations performed by qualified technologists.
  • Assume professional responsibility for assisting the Radiologic Technologists' accreditation standards.
  • Provide interpretation of ultrasound studies performed by Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Provide interpretation of mammography exams, including CAD and tomography mammography exams.
  • Review and approve mammography images and ensure all MQSA-required activities are carried out.
  • Transcribe reports directly into the Indian Health Service's Resource and Patient Management Systems/Electronic Health Record computer system.
  • Provide consultation to the radiology technologists concerning the quality of X-ray studies submitted for interpretation.
  • Assist technologists in developing and improving quality standards and monitor repeat rates as required.
  • Serve as the consultant for the radiology services provided and participate in a peer review process.
