About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the Ultrasound Department at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a PRN opportunity. The sonographer provides patient care through advanced imaging by performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, assisting physicians, and ensuring patients’ safety and comfort. The role performs diagnostic ultrasound and peripheral vascular procedures, maintains a positive and comforting demeanor with patients, promotes goodwill among coworkers and other departments, and complies with mandatory education and health requirements. The position is located at Baptist South, South - Main Building, 14550 Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience working in a hospital setting.
- 1–2 years of hospital-based, department-specific work experience.
- Ultrasound experience.
- Experience with vascular ultrasound.
- 1–2 years of customer service experience.
- Vocational school education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- If hired, obtain certification in Sonography from ARDMS or ARRT (S), and RVT or ARRT (VS) or RVS, within 12 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification preferred.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification preferred.
- Registered Technologist in Sonography (ARRT) certification preferred.
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification from CCI – Cardiovascular preferred.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification from ARDMS preferred.
