Diabetes Clinical Product Trainer

Modular Medical IncSan Diego, CA
$110,000 - $150,000Onsite

About The Position

Modular Medical is a publicly traded San Diego medical device company building the Pivot™ insulin patch pump — a device designed to make pump therapy accessible to a much broader population of people living with diabetes. The technology only matters if the person wearing it understands it and the clinician prescribing it trusts it. We’re hiring a Diabetes Clinical Product Trainer to teach physicians, CDCES holders, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and the patients and caregivers behind them how to use the Pivot™ pump safely and confidently. You’ll run group and one-on-one pump start-up sessions (including for people transitioning from MDI), train and certify our sales, customer support, and field clinical teams, and develop and maintain training curricula, decks, quick-reference guides, video content, and competency assessments in partnership with Marketing and Clinical Affairs. You’ll represent the clinical voice at advisory boards, KOL engagements, and trade shows; provide remote escalation support to providers and patients; capture field feedback and partner with Quality and Customer Support on complaint and adverse-event reporting under 21 CFR 803 — all within FDA-cleared labeling, our promotional review process, and HIPAA.

Requirements

  • An active, unrestricted U.S. clinical license (RN, RD, Pharmacist, PA, or NP) or equivalent credential with substantial diabetes experience
  • 3+ years in diabetes care with hands-on insulin pump and/or CGM experience
  • A demonstrated track record training both clinicians and people living with diabetes
  • Strong working knowledge of the ADA Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes and ADCES practice guidelines
  • Excellent platform, facilitation, and adult-learning skills across in-person and virtual delivery
  • Comfort with PowerPoint, Teams, Salesforce, learning management systems, and diabetes data platforms

Nice To Haves

  • CDCES certification strongly preferred — if not currently certified, willingness to obtain within 24 months of hire
  • Prior industry experience as a clinical trainer or field clinical specialist (especially supporting a commercial product launch from limited release through full launch) is a strong plus
