About The Position

The DI Tech Aide - Diagnostic Imaging - Supplemental Varying Shifts position involves providing assistance to the Diagnostic Imaging technologist. This role requires the ability to work independently, communicate effectively with patients and staff, prioritize workload, and transport patients of all age groups. The position also includes administrative tasks, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and fostering a positive work environment. The aide is responsible for patient transport, record keeping, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology (within 6 months) and anatomy to provide assistance to the Diagnostic Imaging technologist.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, nursing and technical staff and others they may come into contact with, in a pleasant and constructive manner.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet needs of in-house and outpatient requesters in a timely manner.
  • Ability to take direction from lead, manager or director regarding work activities and procedures.
  • Ability to transport and work with all age groups.
  • Good knowledge of body mechanics.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training program or applicable experience and demonstrated competence.
  • Have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy to provide assistance to the radiologic technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, copying, faxing, and filing.
  • Transport patients according to designated methods and schedules to and from diagnostic and treatment areas.
  • Notify nursing staff prior to and upon returning patients to the nursing floor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of portable equipment in the department and surgery.
  • Assist department personnel as required in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain adequate records as directed.
  • Handle equipment in a responsible and professional manner.
  • Promote a positive work environment by establishing good working relationships.
  • Effectively communicate with all personnel.
  • Promote an honest, direct approach to problem-solving and communication of concerns.
  • Be pro-active and work well in a team environment to resolve conflicts.
