About The Position

We’re looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer to own, consolidate, and evolve the infrastructure behind Pathify. You’ll report to the Deputy CTO and work closely with engineering leadership and our Chief Engineers to keep our cloud environment reliable, scalable, and secure. As the bridge between our application developers and our support team, you’ll also be responsible for supporting incident management, driving our SRE efforts, and leading our Start-of-Semester efforts. This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy - we’re looking for someone to define and deliver the strategy, not just execute it.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, GKE, IAM, networking, Cloud SQL, etc.). AWS experience appreciated but not required
  • Strong Kubernetes experience in production environments
  • Terraform or other IaC experience
  • Python for tooling and automation
  • Experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
  • Comfort working independently - scoping, prioritizing, and delivering projects with minimal oversight
  • Ability to break projects down into meaningful chunks, to deliver continuous improvements
  • Production experience at enterprise scale - supporting hundreds of thousands of WAU
  • US-based, able to work core hours overlapping with Mountain Time

Nice To Haves

  • Background in security-conscious environments (SOC 2, higher ed, healthcare, fintech)
  • Startup or small-team experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations and reliability of our GCP infrastructure
  • Maintain and improve our Kubernetes clusters (deployments, scaling, observability, cost)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
  • Consolidate infrastructure from multiple teams into a single unified devops function
  • Mature our release management and synthetic monitoring
  • Partner with engineering and support on performance, security, and incident response
  • Contribute to our roadmap for infrastructure, deployment, and platform reliability
  • Establish and participate in an on-call rotation for production infrastructure.
  • Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets to balance velocity with system stability.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Robust Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or a Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Life Insurance policy
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Parental Leave policy
  • 401(k) plan with Company Match
  • Student Loan Reimbursement program
  • Home Office Stipend
  • Wellness & Mental Health (Bonus!): Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and mental health resources
