About The Position

This role requires a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments, system architecture, and cloud platforms. The engineer will be responsible for integrating various tools and technologies to automate deployment, manage cloud infrastructure, and ensure system reliability and performance. The position demands excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment. Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.) or Computer Science
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience (excluding education experience)
  • Ten (10)+ years working in an Agile dev environment (excluding education experience)
  • Fluent with Git
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL 617/8, RHCSNRHCE CentOS)
  • Experience with Windows system administration, system monitoring, instrumentation, resiliency and performance.
  • Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC, etc.)
  • Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication, and Tuning) and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus).
  • Knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, PCI compliance etc.
  • Ten (10)+ years of system architecture required with a demonstrated ability to read the code and understand the coding logic to assist in troubleshooting
  • Ten (10)+ years' experience managing/monitoring AWS cloud and virtualized servers for optimal performance while working in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle models, agile, and DevOps programming methodologies.
  • Fluent skills in object oriented programming and experience in at least one programming language such as Ruby, C, C++, GO, Python, or Java.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications

Responsibilities

  • Integrate Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment.
  • Manage and monitor AWS cloud and virtualized servers for optimal performance in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment.
  • Acquire in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk, and understand varied customer deployments.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, isolate defects, and assess risk.
  • Work effectively with customers, developers, testing teams, project management, and support staff.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and adherence to SLA requirements.
  • Implement and manage configuration management tools.
  • Utilize containerization and serverless technologies.
  • Apply knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, and PCI compliance.
